Admissions
Your recovery journey starts with a single call. We handle the rest.
Start Your Journey
Taking the first step toward recovery is the hardest part — and we are here to make the rest as smooth as possible. At MHS Rehab, our admissions team guides you through every detail with compassion and discretion, from your very first conversation to the moment you settle into our Chino campus.
We understand that reaching out for help takes courage. That is why our admissions specialists are available around the clock, every day of the year. Whether you are seeking treatment for yourself or a loved one, we will answer your questions honestly, verify your insurance benefits, and help you understand your options — all at no cost and with complete confidentiality.
Most clients are admitted within 24 to 48 hours of their initial conversation. We coordinate travel arrangements for those coming from outside the Inland Empire, and our bilingual staff can assist Spanish-speaking families throughout the process.

What to Bring
Packing for treatment does not need to be stressful. Here is what we recommend bringing to our facility:
- Comfortable clothing — casual, weather-appropriate outfits for 7 to 10 days (laundry services are provided)
- Personal hygiene items — toothbrush, shampoo, deodorant (alcohol-free products only)
- Prescription medications — in their original labeled containers with prescribing information
- Photo ID and insurance card — required for intake processing
- Journal or notebook — many clients find writing helpful during therapy
- Comfortable shoes — including walking shoes for outdoor activities and equine therapy
- Reading materials — books or recovery literature (no magazines with triggering content)
- Phone numbers — written list of important contacts (phone access is limited during early treatment)
Please leave at home: Weapons, alcohol, drugs, over-the-counter medications (we provide these), valuables, and excessive cash. Our intake team will review all belongings during the admission process for everyone's safety.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does treatment last?
Length of stay depends on clinical need and the level of care recommended. Medical detox typically spans 3 to 7 days. Residential treatment ranges from 30 to 90 days, with extensions granted when progress warrants continued immersion. Our IOP runs 6 to 12 weeks, and standard outpatient continues as long as it yields meaningful clinical benefit. Your care team evaluates your plan on an ongoing basis to align duration with your recovery trajectory.
Do you accept my insurance?
MHS Rehab is contracted with most major insurance carriers, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, United Healthcare, Humana, Magellan, Tricare, Medicare, and Medi-Cal. Our admissions staff will promptly verify your specific benefits, explain coverage details, identify any out-of-pocket responsibilities, and discuss available financing options before you make any decisions.
Is detox medically supervised?
Yes. Our medical detoxification unit is staffed around the clock by physicians and registered nurses. Dr. Oluwaseun Adeyemi, our Medical Director, leads a team of addiction medicine specialists who provide continuous patient monitoring, administer medication-assisted treatment as appropriate, and maintain strict safety protocols throughout withdrawal stabilization.
Do you offer LGBTQ+-affirming treatment?
Absolutely. Inclusivity is foundational to everything we do at MHS Rehab. Our clinical team receives ongoing training in LGBTQ+-competent care, and we offer specialized group therapy tracks for queer and transgender clients. From intake onward, we respect pronouns, honor chosen names, and ensure that every individual feels safe and seen regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
Can family members participate in the recovery process?
Family involvement is central to our philosophy. Residential clients engage in structured family therapy sessions, enjoy designated visiting hours on weekends, and have scheduled phone access. Our clinicians also provide psychoeducation for loved ones, helping them understand addiction, strengthen communication, and prepare a supportive home environment for their family member's return.
What happens after I complete treatment?
Aftercare planning begins the day you arrive. Before discharge, your clinical team assembles a comprehensive continuing-care plan that may include step-down to outpatient services, referrals to sober living residences in the Inland Empire, ongoing individual therapy, mutual-support group connections near downtown Chino and throughout the Inland Empire, and enrollment in our alumni community. We remain a resource for you long after you leave our campus.
